True Conservatives United Against “School Choice”

We are categorically opposed to an expansion of the government, increases in taxation, and subsidies in any form. Here at Accountability Matters, we believe in the strict adherence to the original language and intent of the Constitution of Texas; limiting government power to those items enumerated in the United States Constitution, personal accountability and responsibility, self-sufficient families, families founded on the faithful marriage of one man and one woman, having an educated population (with parents being free to choose the education of their children), and a free enterprise society unencumbered by government interference or subsidies.

As a result, we are likewise opposed to any increase in spending on public education, and/or subsidies for private education.

The 89th Texas House Legislature has two bills addressing these issues, House Bill 2 (increasing state spending on GovEd) and House bill 3 (creating “Educational Savings Accounts” aka subsidies). We ask that you attend and testify against these measures in person, or in writing. You can follow the links below and the House Notices contain the links to submit written testimony, as well as to view the hearings when they take place.

Our own written testimony will be published here, on the evening of February 28, 2025.

Public Information Request to Representative Cole Hefner, Texas House District 5

On September 18, 2024, Bethany Clark and Morgan Collier submitted Public Information Requests (PIR) to the Office of Representative Cole Hefner.

The results were shocking, but not in the way you would think.

See for yourself, here are the records we received:
